Our South Australian ultrafiltration water treatment filters solid particles in fluids but cannot filter the dissolved ones. The system works almost like other water filtration systems. Water flows through a sediment filter that captures particulate with the porosity of the filter. However, the ultrafiltration system filters anything larger than 0.025 microns.
